Sedburghs and Kirby cadets
The original gliders were Sedberghs WB943 and WB 959, Kirby Cadet Mk 3s XE793, XN 241 and XE 907 (later replaced by WT 877) the colours of the gliders in 1958 were silver with yellow stripes. In 1967 the yellow stripes were replaced with red dayglow at the wing tips. The colours were changed again in 1973 to red and white fuselage, grey wings with red painted tips, red tailplane, fin and rudder.

Ventures
In September 1978 the VGS was equipped with two Venture Mk 2s, XZ 562 and XZ564 which later in 1982 became three Ventures, XZ 562, ZA 627 and ZA 666.

The current fleet at 625 VGS is seven Viking conventional gliders. Viking is the RAF designated name for the Grob 103A Twin II (aka Twin Astir). The Viking is a high performance two seater sailplane made primarily from glass fibre construction with non retractable undercarriage and upper surface airbrakes. It was designed for high performance gliding, training and simple aerobatic flying.

The aircraft colours in 1985 when the school converted to Vikings was all white with red wing tips, dayglow stripes were added to the wings in 1998.
